ADI-GARDINER Distributes Apollo AlarmSense Products

ADI-GARDINER (UK) is helping to make the design and installation of conventional fire detection and audio visual notification devices...

for small to medium-sized buildings easier and more economical, through the distribution of Apollo's AlarmSense products.

Designed to make installation quicker and more cost-effective, AlarmSense enables one pair of supply wires to be used during installation instead of the traditional two, with detectors, manual call points and sounders connected on to the same two wires.

As well as providing a cost effective solution to wiring, the range allows an existing AlarmSense system to be easily extended or modified if necessary.

Ideal for small to medium-sized buildings, such as Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMOs), AlarmSense products also have a local alarm facility which allows a resident to identify a small, localised issue, for example, burnt toast, and gives them time to clear the local smoke avoiding the need for a general alarm.

If however there is a real fire, the smoke will not clear and a general alarm will be given.

“We designed AlarmSense with installers in mind, making products easier and quicker to install, while also reducing wiring costs” comments Paul Smith, Head of Marketing at Apollo.

“Furthermore, all AlarmSense products comply with the legal requirements and codes of practice, including BS5839 Part 6, the UK Code of Practice for the design, installation and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems in dwellings.”

AlarmSense products are fitted with patented RemovAlert head removal monitoring. This informs the control panel if a detector is removed from its base, reducing incidents of malicious interference. The products also benefit from SynchroPulse which enables pulsing sounders to be synchronised when in alarm.

The AlarmSense range includes optical smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, a sounder/beacon base and a base sounder. All products are powered and controlled by purpose-designed control equipment.

“Our relationship with Apollo spans 20 years, during which time they have continually developed market-focused products that meet legislative requirements and operational demands,” added Peter Holmes, Fire Product Manager at ADI-GARDINER.

“The AlarmSense products will provide installers with an economical solution that causes minimal disruption during installation and provides end-users with peace-of-mind. The products are reliable and straight-forward to operate, provide flexibility for future modification and help end-users to satisfy legal and insurance requirements.”

Apollo's AlarmSense range is compliant with Construction Product Directive (89/106/EC).
