Chubb installation protects prestigious new project in Manchester

One of the largest office blocks* ever to be built in the UK will soon be protected by an integrated fire and security system from Chubb. Chubb is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

The bespoke fire alarm, security and CCTV system uses the latest technology such as dome cameras and onsite image recording and monitoring. The access control system is integrated with both the intruder alarm and Chubb¹s own Resonance fire alarm technology.

Shepherd Engineering Services Limited (SES) chose Chubb because it wanted proven expertise in systems design as Graham Hill, Contracts Manager for SES says: "Chubb is a world-class supplier of CCTV and fire alarm technology and we trust them to work with us on this valuable and distinguished project."

A number of prestigious financial and professional organisations are located in Piccadilly Place including the Bank of New York, HSBC, King Sturge, and Allianz Insurance, as well as a range of public agencies including the Greater Manchester Public Transport Executive.

It contains almost 20,000 square metres of grade ŒA¹ office space and the ground level will contain a mixture of retail and restaurant units.

By 2010, Piccadilly will have undergone a £1.2 billion investment programme comprising residential, commercial and retail developments. Stewardship comes from the Piccadilly Partnership (an alliance of public and private sector businesses).
