Fire fighting boots must provide protection against heat, cold, flames, electricity and sharp objects, and should also be quickly ready for action.

Therefore, mid-October will see the market launch of ROSENBAUER's new TWISTER fire fighting boot, which comes with a completely original lacing system.

In and out in a flash
The very special feature of the new TWISTER boot is that it no longer employs a standard lace, but instead an extremely tough special steel cord. This passes over robust loops to a knob where it is wound on and fixed.

When the knob is pulled out, the lace is immediately released allowing the firefighter to take off the boot very quickly. Moreover, the lacing can be easily adjusted at any time.

Using the new BOA (registered trademark of BOA TECHNOLOGY INC.) lacing system, which has been adapted from the sports area, the new ROSENBAUER fire fighting boot offers previously unattained comfort during donning and removal.

Largely watertight, but still breathable
Sympatex membranes and hydrophobic waterproof leather make the TWISTER both water-repellent and breathable. The water vapour molecules that collect in the boot are transported outwards via the hydrophilic (water vapour permeable) zones of the Sympatex membranes.

Conversely, for any incoming water droplets, which are a million times larger than the vapour molecules, the membranes form an impenetrable barrier and thus the inside of the boot remains pleasantly dry.

The multi-layer structure of the sole with integrated air cushions ensures outstanding insulation against cold and heat. Moreover, a steel insert in the sole and a steel toecap safeguard the foot against injury. A further insert in the heel supports the joint and carefully placed padding around the ankle enhances wearer comfort.

The breathable inner sole can be removed and is washable.  Last, but not least, the TWISTER offers improved wearer comfort due the fact that it only weighs around 2,640g (continental size 42).

The new boot is available in the standard continental sizes 36-50, but smaller and larger boots can be ordered as special items.

The new TWISTER boot has been tested and certified according to EN 15090:2006 and is also suitable for indoor fire fighting.
