Airstar has added another product to its renowned Sirocco range – the LED 75 000 lm. Thanks to its LED technology, the balloon delivers 75,000 lumens from only 600W of power, boasts a 50,000-hour lifetime, and is able to cover an area of 3,640 sqm, making it a perfect lighting solution for both the construction and safety industries.
As well as its efficiency, the LED 75 000 lm has retained Airstar’s familiar level of build quality, possessing a light engine with six independent LED modules that are quick and easy to change, in order prevent the possibility of blackouts.
The product is set to be popular for emergency (firefighters, NGOs, first responders), security and safety teams (police checkpoints, army camps, logistics, sensitive sites) as well as for the construction industry (road works, railway maintenance, oil and mine operations), with the promise to provide greater safety and efficiently in any given environment. Airstar lighting balloons are answering this need by offering an homogenous light which is 360° diffuse, glare free and with no shadow.
Nicolas Berfini, Industry Market Manager for Airstar, explained: “The previous product in the range also boasted 600W, but with the ability to produce 60,000 lumens of light. The 75 000 lm is the next stage in this range’s evolution. Thanks to close relationships with subsidiaries, distributors and end users, we knew exactly what our target markets were expecting from this product.”
During its almost 30 years in business, Airstar has developed an international network to promote the lighting balloon concept, always keen to listen to its customers and developing its products. This willingness to listen to and cater for the varied, and often high-stakes, markets it serves has resulted in a safe and user-friendly product. The IP54 lighting balloon includes a pressure switch, fuse and breaker and can be set up in less than 2 minutes, as well as being lightweight to ensure ease of movement.
“We always compile feedback on our products from experts as well as end users, which we regularly use to directly assist in our research and development,” Berfini said. “In parallel, the resources from our team all come from various industrial areas including electronics, mechanics, and software, so we have a very well-rounded view of the markets we serve.”
As well as catering to its customers’ needs, Airstar offers exemplary after-sales service. All spare parts are available on order, while failure diagnostics can be done over the phone, and the company even offers local repair services without having to send the product back to the factory, thanks to a presence in over 40 countries (22 Airstar agencies and over 70 distributors).
The LED 75 000 lm fits snugly alongside the other members of the Sirocco product offering in this area, which ranges from the similarly LED-based Sirocco S, with a 24,000 lm maximum output, up to the large-scale Flex HI-T / HMI models that can illuminate up to 20,000 sqm.
Concluded Berfini: “Since introducing the product to the market for field testing, and based on the first sales figures, feedback is very positive and the perspectives are very encouraging. The 75 000 lm has already convinced a number of major industrial clients such as EDF Energy and SNCF, France’s national state-owned railway company.”
