The entire fire industry united once again at ExCeL London for the world’s leading fire safety event

FIREX International, organised by UBM EMEA, is pleased to announce another successful year for the leading industry event for fire protection, prevention and detection. Hosted once again at London’s ExCeL from 21-23 June, FIREX International welcomed 16,290 attendees across the three days, which is a positive increase on last year’s show.

In addition to the increase in attendees to FIREX International, the show continues to attract the decision makers from across the industry with a 2% increase from integrators, a 61% increase from consultants, and a 23% increase from visitors with a budget over £10 million.

The sales and marketing manager for Emirates Fire Fighting Equipment Factory LLC (FIREX) said: “The show is 100% this year. It has got larger, and what is amazing is that not only have we seen a better crowd coming to our stand this year, they are all ready to buy our products.”

FIREX International continued to sit alongside IFSEC International in the South Halls at ExCeL London, reflecting the crossover between the two industries, and adding value to both FIREX and IFSEC visitors. The increasing popularity and growth of FIREX was further demonstrated by the increased number of elaborate trade stand designs compared to 2015.

Gerry Dunphy, Event Director for IFSEC & FIREX International, said: ‘’FIREX continues to cement its position as Europe’s premier annual fire safety event and this year saw a return to form with over 76 exhibiting companies present. Exhibitors reported substantial levels of interest from international customers as well as a noticeable growth in major end users. Installers told us they’re continuing to see the alignment with IFSEC as a major advantage of attending both shows as the ever increasing synergies between fire and security are coming to the fore. FIREX and IFSEC will continue to embrace this overlap for years to come.’’

FIREX International continued to receive major support from within the industry, the Fire Industry Association (FIA), Fire Protection Association (FPA), Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) and the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) were all present this year as key partners to the show, hosting topical seminar sessions, advice clinics and information zones. This year, we welcomed a new supporting association, the Fire & Security Association (FSA).

The Passive Protection Zone offered an extremely useful opportunity for delegates to develop their knowledge of passive fire protection via a variety of seminars and workshops. Plus, due to the location of ASFP member companies around the zone, this offered a one stop shop for all passive fire protection needs.

Another big highlight for FIREX this year was from FFE Ltd who worked with the Bloodhound project to ensure fire safety. The Bloodhound project are the team behind the latest attempt to break the land speed record, which will take place next summer. The car itself was showcased on the showfloor and FFE Ltd were on hand to answer the many questions about how they had installed special fire detection technology to keep the driver safe.

The Inspirational Speaker Series continued to attract large crowds this year at FIREX International from across the security, safety, fire, facilities management and service management industries to the 400 capacity theatre each day. Our speakers were again of a very high calibre with Colonel Tim Collins OBE on day one, followed by Kate Adie OBE on day two and finishing with James Cracknell OBE on the final day, our speakers shared key insights into how they have overcome adversity and challenges in their extraordinary careers in order to achieve their goals, from everyday tests of getting the kids to school before work to overcoming traumatic events which needed to be overcome first.

FIREX also continued to benefit from the co-located health & safety, facilities, security, service management and workwear and uniform events, which as a total saw over 45,000 visitors at the ExCeL over the three days, a 4% increase on 2015. Across the series, visitors were able to benefit from meeting their needs for fleet management, fire integration, security and fire installation, health & safety legislation, uniforms and more. Of these co-located events;
IFSEC International welcomed 27,052 attendees across the three days in line with 2015. A key highlight for IFSEC this year was the Home Automation House on display, a complete home environment was created to demonstrate the latest tech for home safety and security automation.

Safety and Health Expo welcomed 13,800 attendees across the three days which represents a 9% increase from the previous year. New for this year, visitors were able to benefit from the Training & Career Zone, sponsored by Amazon, providing guidance on delivering the perfect interview and fast tracking your career.

Facilities Show welcomed 11,353 attendees across the three days which represents a whopping 18% increase in visitors over the first two days. As well as a variety of Seminar programmes with more speakers and educational content than ever before.

FIREX International 2017 takes place from 20th – 22nd June at ExCeL London.
